What Is Down Syndrome:
Down Syndrome (DS) is a genetic disorder caused by an extra 21st chromosome (called Trisomy 21) that can cause physical and mental anomalies. Most notably, a learning disability. Individuals are often considered incapable of doing and learning many things. This is not entirely accurate.
Goal:
To educate both the public, and future parents, about the realties and misconceptions surrounding children and individuals with Down Syndrome, and to raise awareness of Down Syndrome, and advocate for these individuals, because they really are something.
Most people just don't understand it yet.

When I was six years old, my sister Alexa was born with Down Syndrome.
Down Syndrome is a fairly common genetic disorder occurring in 1 in every 1000 live births.
Not many people understand it, or what these kids (and adults) are capable of.
That is why I started DownsButNotOut.
To raise awareness for Down Syndrome, and advocate for these individuals, because they really are something.
